These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Balance mobile application ("the App") operated by Balance ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
Balance is a financial tracking tool designed for people with variable income (servers, bartenders, stylists, rideshare drivers, and other gig/shift workers). The App helps you track earnings, view income patterns, forecast cash flow, and estimate paydays.
You must create an account to use Balance. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use the App.
You own your data. The earnings, gigs, forecasts, and other information you enter into Balance belong to you. You can export your data or delete your account at any time through the App settings. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.
The App includes an AI-powered conversational feature ("Balance AI") that can help you log earnings, view insights, and manage forecasts through natural conversation. Balance AI is provided as a convenience and is labeled as Beta.
Balance AI is not a financial advisor. It does not provide investment advice, tax advice, or financial planning services. The AI provides estimates and predictions based on the data you provide — these are not guarantees of future income or account balances.
You may optionally connect your bank account through Plaid to enable balance predictions and automatic bill detection. By connecting your bank, you authorize Plaid to access your account data on our behalf. You can disconnect your bank at any time. Plaid's services are subject to Plaid's terms and privacy policy.
Balance is a tracking and forecasting tool. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Balance predictions and estimates are based on data you provide and may not be accurate. You should not rely solely on Balance for financial decisions.

Balance is currently free to use. All features are available at no cost. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will notify you in advance and existing free features will remain accessible.
We strive to keep Balance available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The App may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
Balance is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any financial decisions you make based on information in the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims related to the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (currently $0, as the App is free).
You may delete your account at any time through the App. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon account deletion, all your data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States.
